The IBAO offers two certifications, the IBA and the IBT. Please go to the IBAO Downloads page of our website. There you will find a PDF that explains all the requirements for each certification. After you are familiar with the requirements for your desired certification, you would then go to the IBAO website and register as a candidate (Registration - not Addition). Once you have completed all the requirements, you can sit for the exam.
If you have obtained practice and supervision hours prior to registering as a Candidate, you can email a summary of the hours to us here along with your supervisor's name and email address. If we can verify the hours, we can add them to your account on our end.
We have listed a summary of the requirements for each certification below.
IBA - International Behavior Analyst - Certification requiring a master’s degree or bachelor’s degree and projects for the non-master’s experience route, 270 hours of REOs (ABA Coursework), 1000 hours of practice, 50 hours of supervision, candidate skills testing, CEUs, and the IBA Exam.
IBT - International Behavior Therapist - Certification requiring a high school diploma, 40 hours of REOs (ABA Coursework), 300 hours of practice, 10 hours of supervision, candidate skills testing, CEUs, and the IBT Exam.
